How Daakly works — booking India Post online, step by step
What happens from creating a Daakly account to a delivered parcel: pricing, booking, printing labels and manifests, handing in at a post office, and tracking.
How to book an India Post parcel through Daakly
Create an account, top up a wallet, price the shipment, book it, print the label and manifest, hand the parcel in at a post office, and track it to delivery.
- Create an account — An email address and a password. No registration fee, no documents, no sales call, and nothing to cancel if you decide against it. Individuals and unregistered sellers are welcome — a GSTIN is optional and only matters if you want it on your invoices.
- Add money to your wallet — Shipments are paid for from a prepaid balance rather than invoiced monthly, which is what removes the credit check and the contract. Top up with whatever suits your volume; a balance does not expire and nothing comes out of it except the shipments you book.
- Price the shipment — Enter the two pincodes and the weight. You see the contractual rate for both services before you commit — including which weight step it landed in and which zone the lane resolved to, so the figure is checkable against the published card.
- Book it — Fill in the pickup and delivery addresses, pick a service, and confirm. Every charge is itemised on screen first. The wallet is debited at that moment, and the consignment number is issued immediately.
- Print the label — The label goes on the parcel. The manifest is a single sheet listing everything you are handing in at once — it is what turns a counter visit from a booking session into a hand-over.
- Hand it in at a post office — Take the parcels and the manifest to any post office. The booking already exists in the system, so the counter is confirming a hand-over rather than typing addresses. This is the step that is genuinely yours to do.
- Track it to the door — Every scan from acceptance to delivery appears against the consignment, and you can share a tracking link with your customer that shows them the parcel and nothing about your account.
