Questions
- What does it cost to use Daakly?
- Nothing up front. There is no registration fee, no monthly subscription, no minimum volume and no contract. You add money to a wallet and each shipment is deducted from it when you book.
- What am I charged when I book a shipment?
- Exactly what the rate card says, and nothing more. That figure is the postage set by the India Post contractual tariff plus a Daakly commission for the booking, the documentation and support — both itemised on screen in rupees before you confirm, and both separate lines on the invoice.
- How much is the Daakly commission?
- It is already inside the rate on the rates page — that figure is the whole charge — and the booking screen shows you the exact rupee amount of it for your shipment, beside the postage it sits on. We do not publish a percentage on this page because the schedule is still being finalised, and quoting a figure we might have to change would be worse than saying so.
- Is GST added on top of the rates shown on this site?
- No. The rates on this site already include every tax — India Post’s GST on the postage and the GST on our commission. The booking screen shows you the split; the total it arrives at is the figure you were quoted.
- Can a charge change after I book?
- Yes, if the parcel handed in is not the parcel you booked — a higher billable weight, a destination in a different zone, or a last-mile charge that depends on where the parcel was inducted into the network. India Post weighs every parcel at the counter, and where they charge more than you paid, the difference — with our commission and its tax — is debited from your wallet, even if that takes it below zero. It shows in your ledger against the parcel, and you can dispute it. Where they charge less, nothing is credited. A return to origin is not one of these: India Post does not charge for a return.
- Do I get a better rate at higher volume?
- The published card is the same for everyone booking through Daakly, whatever they ship. If you are shipping at a volume where a bespoke arrangement makes sense, talk to us directly rather than working it out from a page.
- What happens to money I add and do not spend?
- It stays in your wallet until you ship. There is no expiry on a balance and no monthly fee eating into it, so a top-up costs you nothing to keep. A balance is for postage and cannot be withdrawn while your account is open. If you are leaving, email us before you close your account and we will refund what is left to the card or UPI handle it came from; a balance still in the wallet when the account closes is forfeited.
