Questions
- How fast is Speed Post?
- Typically one to five days depending on the lane, with metro-to-metro being the fastest. Those figures are indicative rather than guaranteed delivery dates — India Post does not sell a guaranteed date on this service and we will not imply one.
- Is Speed Post worth the extra cost?
- Under about 1 kg, almost always — the price difference against Business Parcel is a few rupees and you get a materially faster service. Above 5 kg you are paying close to double, which is worth it when a customer is waiting on a date and hard to justify when they are not.
- Where does Speed Post deliver?
- Effectively every deliverable pincode in India, including rural and hill circles that private networks either do not serve or serve through a third-party handover with no visibility.
- How heavy a parcel can I send by Speed Post?
- Up to 35 kg as a single parcel, which is the ceiling of the rate card. Anything heavier has to be split across multiple consignments.
- Do I get the contractual rate on Speed Post too?
- Yes. Both services on this site are booked at the contractual tariff, and the whole card is published on the rates page including its effective date.
